After a recent retirement they are now recruiting for an experienced and well-presented Clerk of Works to join their head-office team in Orpington, Kent.

Person Specification: Clerk of Works

  • Must have experience of writing professional reports to a high standard
  • Preferably qualified as MICW – Member of the Intitute of Collaborative Working
  • Must be able to demonstrate technical ability, will be up to date with Building Regs
  • Excellent communidation skills, both written and oral
  • Strong residential experience, ideally on sites from £1m-£100m

Roles & Responsibilities: Clerk of Works

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to undertake inspections of building works in progress in new build residential sites, liaising with Building Contractors and preparing reports for Contract Administrators, and Project Management.

The work will involve undertaking regular inspections of residential new builds to monitor progress, verifying compliance with contractual drawings, warranty standards and employer’s requirements, identifying discrepancies, preparing written reports with supporting photographs on weekly intervals and organising snagging and end of defect inspections with the Client in attendance.

  • Keep yourself up to date with building regulations and compliance
  • Verifying compliance with contractual drawings, warranty standards and employers requirements
  • Good observation to be able to identify discrepancies and raise these appropriately
  • Prepare written reports with supporting photographs to a high standard and submit in a timely way
  • Organise snagging and end of defect inspections with the client
  • Maintain a good client relationship throughout

Salary & Package: Clerk of Works

Our client is offering a salary of Clerk of Works, dependant on experience and a package which includes;

Hours:         09.00 – 17.00, Monday to Friday
Holidays:     From 24 days per annum, rising to 30 days depending on length of service
Pension:     Excellent pension, up to 4% employer contribution
Benefits:    Life assurance of 2 x salary, active health and well-being support, active staff Social club.
